At Berkshire Counselling Service we understand how difficult life can be at times. Changes in circumstances and life stages can result in emotional, physical and behavioural changes.

Some people have enough support around them but our modern fast moving world means that this is not the case for many. Loneliness, anxiety and depression are more common than they were.

Some problems relate to earlier life experiences such as loss, family separations, illness or trauma. Any of these life experiences could lead to an erosion of self-esteem and disturbing or distressing thought patterns.

Some people try to deal with these feelings through alcohol, drugs, risky sexual behaviour and gambling – and these may lead to addictions.

We may not be looking after ourselves well enough, we may be experiencing stress, or suffer from eating disorders or urges to self-harm. As a result relationships both personal and at work can suffer, compounding the difficulties.

Our counsellors have skills in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Person-Centred and Integrative approaches. They are experienced in helping you unravel the events that have led to where you are now and can work with you to determine a way forward.

Berkshire Counselling Service is a collective name used for the independent therapists & counsellors represented by this site.
